Patient Participation Group

At Urban Village Medical Practice we are very keen to refresh our PPG to ensure that we have the patient’s voice involved in decisions that we feel will affect the practice population. We are hoping that the PPG will help strengthen the relationship between patients and surgery staff. We are particularly keen to hear from patients from the LGBT community as well as patients from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, and patients who identify with having a disability.

The activities of the PPG will vary as they develop and evolve to meet the needs of the population.

However, they may include:

  • The opportunity to share in decisions around the running of the surgery
  • A platform for patients to make positive suggestions about the surgery, and be advocates for patients’ ideas
  • Increasing patients’ understanding of the reality of running a busy GP surgery
  • Acting as a ‘critical friend’, by helping the surgery to understand how patients feel about issues such as surgery opening hours, appointment systems, requests for home visits, waiting times, repeat prescriptions and the range and type of services provided within the surgery

Join our Patient Participation Group

All registered patients are able to join our Patient Participation Group. People of all genders, ages, ethnicities, and those with health conditions and disabilities are encouraged to join.
